Monday, Christopher stayed home from work and we were able to establish some really great goals! We are working to establish a Christ centered home by following the guidance of latter day prophets to keep out of debt, be healthy, holding family home evening, daily scriptures and prayer, keeping a house of order, and many other wonderful things.
Throughout the week, we were able to start working on our goals and even though we didn't have the opportunity to accomplish all the things we hoped, we recognize that it is a work in progress!
Monday night, we actually had the opportunity to hang out with my best friend from college, Joy! She lives in Hawaii right now and she is amazing! She is about to have baby number two and I am so excited for her! We had a bunch of fun talking and catching up!
Tuesday, Christopher got really sick so he hung out at home and I went shopping with my sister and mom! We went to Home Goods by TJMaxx! Oh my goodness....we had way too much fun!!! And we found out that they are building one right near our house so we don't have to travel all the way to Murray anymore to go there!!! We had so much fun!
Wednesday, Christopher got REALLY sick. He stayed home and I went to work at school for a little bit to get ready for the year! Then we were able to hang out at home. Christopher was bed ridden for a day, but Thursday, came to be a new day.
Thursday was a really...interesting day for me. I went to a singers workshop with a local artist and I was sorely disappointed with the workshop. I won't bash it, I just was hoping for something more. And I as I came to realize that the workshop wasn't for me, I also was reminded that heavenly fathe loves me and wants me to focus my efforts in my life not on singing, but I want to focus it on our family. Even though we don't have any kids yet, there are so many things that we can do to prepare for our family! :)
Thursday night, Christopher had a fun time with Kevin, his twin brother, looking back on memories as they went through old toys and had a lot of fun working together! I was able to go over and help Christopher's brother Eric and his wife Skylee with their kids since they are still recovering from their accident! The way that Eric and Skylee have raised their kids with routines and expectations makes me want to be a better person and they are such a great example of how I want to raise my kids! I love their kiddos!!!
Friday, we hosted the missionaries for dinner! It's so great to have the missionaries in our home! They are a great example and they are great servants of God! Then we went to help Eric and Skylee again and hung out with them for a bit!! Then we went and got ice cream and fries at ice berg!! We had a really funny conversation about being a "lame married couple." And we decided to be awesome and go to a movie in the park! We saw "Into the Woods" at Riverton park! Even though you can't really see us in the picture, we are there and we are having fun! ;) being a cool married couple! Not a lame married couple.
Saturday was a BUSY day!!! We woke up early and went to a few yard sales! We had a lot of fun!!!! And got some great stuff!!!:) then Christopher went to help Kevin and Kacee move into the neffs basement! I went shopping with Kalene to Costco and then Kalene and I went and finished some touch ups on the paint in our home! Then Christopher and I went shopping at Walmart to grab a couple other things and then we ran home and got ready for the adult session of stake conference where I had the opportunity to sing in a small musical group and then we got home and watched some of our favorite show and went to bed!!! Whew!!
Today we have family coming over for dinner! The WHOLE family! They have anxiously been waiting to see our new home and we are excited for have them over tonight! But I think the highlight of my day!! ALREADY!! Was watching my little kitty make friends with the neighbor deer! We have this deer family that loves hanging out near our house! And this morning, we were pulling out to go to church and moose, our kitty, was hanging out with the deer in our front yard!!!
You might not be able to see moose. He's on the left! He and the deer just hanging out!
I finally had a chance to read through your posts :) You and Christopher were both AMAZING to take care of us and our kids while we were out last month. It was (and is) a blessing to have you nearby, one I will always remember. Thank you for all you do for our family.
